Within the newly-formed province of Saskatchewan, coverage of 1906 baseball games by newspapers in the most-populated centres was scanty at best.
REGINA
To say that baseball was an afterthought to the publishers of the two competing newspapers, the Regina Leader and the Regina Standard, in Saskatchewan’s capital city in 1906 would not be an exaggeration. The rival journals printed the result of only one game each in the three-team City Baseball League that season.
(June 11) The Fire Brigade nine got past the C.P.R. aggregation by a 5 to 2 count. Kain, on the hill for the Firefighters, struck out 11, issued no free passes and was nicked for seven safeties. He received perfect defensive backing by his mates who banged out nine base raps off losing chucker Warren.

(July 16) A lesson learned in how not to address the umpire. Because the Fire Brigade pitcher Chesty Kain "sassed" him, Umpire Duff awarded the game to the C.P.R. boys, despite the fact the fire fighters were in the lead when the game was called. An argument ensued over a call at first base. With the exception of one inning when the Fire Brigade brought in four runs, Bert Orr pitched stellar ball.

MOOSE JAW
The Moose Jaw Times was a shade better than the Regina Leader, intermittently printing game scores without details of games within their four-team City circuit.

The highlight of the season, a post-season visit by the professional Winnipeg Maroons of the 1906 class C Northern – Copper Country Baseball League received just passing coverage by the Winnipeg Free Press.
(September 19) With their ninth win in a twelve game tour, Winnipeg Maroons wound up the western swing Wednesday in Moose Jaw with another easy victory, this one 12-1.

Just one contest was reported upon, a slim victory by visiting Hanley against hosting Saskatoon.
EASTERN SASKATCHEWAN BASEBALL LEAGUE
Wolseley claimed the championship of the four-team circuit (with Grenfell, Indian Head and Sintaluta).
SMALL & RURAL AREAS
(May 24) Carnduff won the Victoria Day tournament at Carlevale downing Sherwood, North Dakota, 15-13 in the final.
(July 2) Lang won Monday's tournament at Yellow Grass downing Weyburn in a forfeit and taking Yellow Grass 6-2.
(July 5) In an Eastern Saskatchewan League game at Indian Head, the home squad notched a 5-4 victory. Embre was the winning hurler.

(July 16) Before a large crowd of 2,000 spectators, Weyburn scored two runs in the final inning to edge BowBells, North Dakota, 7-5.

(July 17) In a wild ninth inning, Churchbridge topped Yorkton 7-4 as 16-year-old Anderson hurled the full game for the winners allowing just one run until the fireworks of the final stanza. Churchbridge, with two in the first and another pair in the second, led 4-1 after eight innings. Yorkton exploded for three runs in the top of the ninth to knot the count at 4-4. The host club then had a three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth for the win.

(July 30) In Soo Line League action Friday, Weyburn tripped up Milestone 6-1 behind the solid, four-hit hurling of Organ. The contest drew a crowd of 1,100.
