MEDICINE HAT TOURNAMENT

(July 20)   Vulcan whipped Maple Creek 6-0 Saturday to take top money in the Medicine Hat Tournament. All six runs came in the second inning as Purcell, on the hill for Maple Creek, issued four walks, uncorked a wild pitch and yielded two singles and a double. Robson, who relieved, pitched shutout ball the rest of the way. Williford, the winning pitcher with a seven-hit performance, aided the attack with a two-run single. Williford and Duckett were the lone hitters in the Vulcan lineup with two hits. Dickey had a pair for Maple Creek.
