SOUTHERN LEAGUE
What a finish to the 1974 batting race. Just six points separated third from first as Jim Baba of Moose Jaw captured the title with a .379 average, besting Bill Bell of Regina who finished at .378 and Doug Simon also of the Red Sox at .373. Roy Rowley of Moose Jaw was fourth, at .351, and Moose Jaw's two-time batting champion Ned Andreoni was 5th, at .337.
Larry Tollefson of Moose Jaw and Simon tied for the most home runs, 7, while Tollefson was tops in runs batted in, with 26. Doug Senyk of Melville registered the most stolen bases, 16.
Warren Mertens of Moose Jaw was the top hurler with a 6-2 record and 2.80 earned run average.

Gord Johnson of Saskatoon drove in the most runs, 23. Don McLeod of Saskatoon was tops in runs scored, 29, and steals, 11.
Teammates Steve Kemp and Wayne Plummer dominated the pitching statistics. Plummer had the most wins, 7. With 7-0 and 5-0 records, they tied for the best winning percentage. Kemp finished first in ERA with a 0.74 average, Plummer was second at 1.47. Tom Sharpe of Unity had the most strikeouts, 73, in just 58 innings.
