(August 30)  In a game for the ages, Saskatoon Quakers and Winnipeg Maroons went 18 innings Saturday in "one of the longest and most wonderful performances of baseball ever exhibited in Canada ... it was baseball of the sensational kind, in which over three thousand wild-eyed fanatics were kept on edge for every minute of the three hours of play ...sensational fielding, marvelous pitching and brainy team work predominated throughout."  The visitors broke through in the top of the 18th as Joseph Kernan connected on the first pitch of the inning for a single and scampered all the way to third on a sacrifice and wild throw.  Ed Williams was given an intentional pass before Clarence Tiffany became the day's hero cracking a triple to plate the first two runs. Paul Byers followed with a single to bring in the third. Lester "King" Stevenson went the full 18 innings giving up 13 hits for the pitching win. He walked two and had three strikeouts. Leo Seiffert was the tough-luck loser yielding just ten hits with 11 strikeouts over the full route. Tiffany led the winners with three safeties while Frank Brazil and Arthur Henning each poked a trio for Winnipeg.
