SASKATOON CITY LEAGUE
Webb Bird of the Saskatoon Elks captured the batting title in the Saskatoon City League with a .410 average, the only regular to break into the charmed circle. The Elks star played in 27 games collecting 43 hits. His nearest rivals were Lefty Fairbairn of the C.N.R. with .371 and Joe McCulloch of the Columbus Club, at .367. Among Bird's achievements was a 20-game streak, stopped July 26th by Merril Falby. In 1924, Bird was a right-handed batter hitting from the southpaw side on only rare occasions. This year, he switched to the left side entirely.

Three hitters from Port Moody dominated the batting statistics in the New Westminster & District League for 1925. Simpson led the loop with a .417 mark, but did not have enough appearances to qualify for the title which went to teammate Bobby Thorburn who compiled a .409 mark to edge Abe Cross, also of Port Moody, at .407. Harris, with 17 hits in 60 at bats was shown with a .223 average when the numbers result in a .283 mark. It appears, also from his placement in the standings to be an obvious typo.
