VANCOUVER SENIOR LEAGUE
Jack Cranstoun, an import from Regina, ran away with the batting crown in the 1927 Vancouver Senior City Baseball League with one of the highest averages ever registered when the Collingwood star rattled off a .516 batting mark over 20 games to finish more than 100 points ahead of Bill Bailey of the Fireman. Babs Johnson of Collingwood was third, at .386 and Charlie Miron, the 1926 champion, was fourth, with a .333 average. Fan favourite Roy Yamamura, the Asahi shortstop repeated the success he had in the Terminal League in 1926, running off with the base-stealing prize. He copped 15 bases. Johnny Nestman of Collingwood was tops in runs scored, 20. Coleman Hall, who played in just 13 games, was the top slugger with three home runs.
Camille "Lefty" Delcourt, veteran Collingwood star, was tops among the hurlers with a 7-1 won-lost mark. He was tied for the most wins and had the best winning percentage.
