SOUTHERN LEAGUE
Cliff Boll, portly left fielder of the Regina Army & Navy, who a year ago led the Border League in hitting, has added the 1933 Southern League batting crown to his laurels. Official averages recently released gave Boll the nod with a mark of .338, earned through 46 base hits in 136 at bats. Based upon a minimum of at least 25 games played with 100 or more times at bat, Bryan Forster of the Regina Nationals finished second with a .317 average.
Winston Bates of Regina Army & Navy topped the hurlers with an 11-2 record. Hec McLeod, the playoff hero, was the league workhorse, pitching in 18 games, including 16 starts. He finished 2nd to Bates in wins, with 8.

Pete McCready of the Alberta champion Edmonton Cubs was the batting star of the 1933 Edmonton Senior League as he led the circuit in batting average, runs scored, runs batted in and home runs. The slugging centrefielder hit .345 with five homers and 12 RBI. Teammate Phil Horn was the runner-up with a .333 mark. The Shastas Val Berg actually topped McCready by hitting for a .349 average, but failed to play two-thirds of his teams`s games to enable him to qualify. Horn topped the league in steals, with 13.

Scotty Lister of pennant-winning Shores' Jewelers captured the 1933 batting title in the Terminal League edging Gus Girard of the Meralomas by five points, .390 to .385. Lister also led the loop in hits, 57, doubles, 13, and home runs, 5. McCarthy, of Shores', who finished 10th in the batting race, at .297, had the most runs, 47. Lefty Fairbairn, also of Shores', was tops in stolen bases, with 20.

Pamphlet of the pennant-winning Native Sons romped to the batting title for 1933 compiling a .508 average in 61 at bats. Farquharson of Lynn Valley was the runner-up with a .442 mark. Pamphlet topped the league in runs with 24 while Farquharson was best in hits, 38, and stolen bases, 15.
Rawlings of Lynn Valley, Langdale of the Odd Fellows and Sutherland of the Native Sons tied for the most pitching wins, 5. Rawlings was the league workhorse going 80 innings while Sutherland rang up the most strikeouts, 93.

Bunny Purmal, the heavy hitting catcher of Slinger's Winery, captured the 1933 batting championship hitting .412 to top Tillicum's Art Chapman who finished at .389. Freddie Gibbons of the Tillicum Club was third, at .357 and Claude Belcher, of Cameron's Lumber, hit .323 to take the fourth spot. Dave Essler, also of Cameron's was fifth, at .317.

The 1933 BC Interior League featured five teams, Kamloops Famous Players, Kelowna, Revelstoke, Salmon Arm and Vernon. The only statisitics available are those for the Vernon club. Harry Cross lead the team with a sparkling .446 average and topped the club in home runs with four. Art McCall was second, with a .391 mark.
