(September 12) In a playoff thriller, Montreal Niseis came through with a 9-7 victory over St. Michel Lumber Sunday to win their best-of-three prepliminary playoff series in two straight games. Niseis took the opener 14-4. The club advances to meet Ste. Marie in a best-of-three semi-final. Ste. Marie upset Lasalle. Pacing an 11-hit Nisei attack were Nobby Ogura and Kiyoshi Suga each with a double and two singles. Ki Konishi cracked a triple and single. Ogura pitched a strong game although touched for nine hits., He fanned 11.
