(August 30) Left-hander Jerry Wickman survived early trouble to rack up a league record 23 strikeouts Monday as Rochester Travelers downed Owatonna 8-5. The University of Minnesota product gave up all six hits against him in the first two innings as the Travelers fell behind 5-2 before rallying for the win. Shortstop Mike Mulligan's grand slam homer in the fifth frame provided enough for the victory. Joe Brown's bases-loaded single in the ninth brought in the final two markers.
