(July 24) The Capitals captured the championship of the 1913 Victoria Intermediate Baseball League by edging the Beacon Hills nine 6 to 5 at Royal Athletic Park. Capitals’ backstop, Clarke, belted a grand-slam homer during a six-run outburst in the fifth inning. Watson of the Beacon Hills aggregation also had a four-ply swat.
